Hi I'm Rick Abbott.

I am a father of 5, a husband, an educator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. I am married and have a wonderful family. My children are all grown and married or going to school. I have a wonderful life in living the gospel of Jesus Christ. My wife and I are very active in the church and our community.

Why I am a Mormon

I am sure that many people have thought that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of my birth. This is only partly true. I am also a Mormon because I have come to know that it is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have prayed, as James invited all searching for the truth to do (James 1:5), and have received an answer to the truthfulness of the Gospel. As I continue to live the gospel in my daily life I have feelings which confirm the truthfulness of the Lord's Gospel. I have come to know through my experiences as well as the revelation of the Holy Spirit that this Gospel is true.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I am active in working both in the church and the community. I teach religion classes for the church to college age students at the local university. I also teach classes on Sunday to the young men in my ward ages 16-18. I have 5 young men in my class every Sunday and enjoy my association with them. I have always enjoyed working with people. I am also active in public work with a local Homeowners Association, serving as the president of the association. I believe in providing public and private service to others. I believe that people truly understand how much you love them by what you are willing to do for them. I believe that is the message of the Savior Jesus Christ. He did for us what we could not do for ourselves and he expects us to do all we can for others. "When you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me". I can think of nothing more noble and honorable than to be a man of service. The greatest joy I have in this life is to be of service to my family, friends, community and in so doing to my God. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in His service.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Rick Abbott.
Yes we can. I am so grateful to know that God intends families to be happy together forever. We believe that a husband and wife can be together forever with their families through the blessings of living the gospel together here on earth. I am so thankful that my family and I have the possibility of being together forever with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
