Hi I'm Aliandria

I'm a Mormon. I love to learn. I'm currently obtaining a degree in music therapy, so I can bless lives through music.

About Me

I love music. I'm learning the guitar, and am excited to use it in my future career in Music Therapy. I'm a senior in college. I enjoy rock-climbing, reading, dancing, and learning. I enjoy spending time with people and doing new things.

Why I am a Mormon

It's the only way I feel peace. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and the Savior of the world. As I have repented of mistakes, I have felt His forgiveness, and my pain was replaced with peace and love. I have felt Him heal my soul. I also have come to know, through many personally profound experiences with the Spirit, that His gospel has been restored to the earth in our day, and that He still speaks to prophets like He did before. Everything that I've been asked to do by His living prophets has brought me joy or peace as I acted on it, and put it to the test. I belong to this church because I have prayed about it many times and have received an answer that it is Jesus Christ's true church, restored to the earth again. Knowing the truth gives me purpose, direction, and hope. It's a wonderful feeling to have the peace of knowing where I'm going, having a reason to do it, and knowing that it will be worth it, and that I can expect to feel joy along the way.

How I live my faith

I get the opportunity to teach Sunday School classes during church, about the scriptures and teachings of Christ, and how we can best apply them in our lives today. My goal when I teach is to increase our faith and hope in Jesus Christ. In the past I've had the opportunity to direct our church choir. I also visit other women in the congregation frequently to see how they're doing and if there is anything I can do to help them. I pray to God and read from the scriptures daily, which gives me great peace, as well as direction in life.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

In the early 1800s, Joseph Smith had a vision in which he was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and was called to be a prophet, or a spokesman for God. God continued to speak to him and give him guidance and instruction, and guided him to re-establish the Church of Jesus Christ. Because these are the last days, the full name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joseph Smith led the church until his death, receiving instruction from God. Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. Able young men are highly encouraged to serve a mission, but none are ever forced. The option is available to young women as well if they would like to go. I made the decision to serve a mission because I asked God if that's what He personally wanted me to do, and He let me know that He did. I also had the desire to share the things that brought me joy, with other people. I am back from serving a mission, and I am so grateful for the experiences I had and the lives that were blessed, including my own. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe the words of any true prophet. The prophets in the Bible are true prophets. We pray about them and their words to know if they are true. I have felt the Spirit testify to me that the things I read in the Bible are inspired of God. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is definitely scripture. It was revelation given to ancient prophets, and it teaches about and testifies of Jesus Christ as the Savior. I read from the Bible daily, and it strengthens my belief in Christ, and my relationship with God. Show more Show less
