Hi I'm Trudy

About Me

Hi. My name is Trudy. I am 57 years old. I have been a Mormon all of my life. I am married to Jerry. We have 12 children. Eight of them are married, so the total people in my family is 44. I have 22 grandchildren. My family is my hobby. They all live close so we spend a lot of time together. I have a missionary son who is serving in the Birmingham, Alabama mission. He was just transferred (relocated) to Tuscaloosa to continue his service. He has been out a year tomorrow. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ! It is my foundation!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true!. I was born into the Mormon Church so I lived Mormonism because that is what I grew up with. I always went to church with my parents and family. I loved the programs of the church including Primary ( an organization for children up to age 12) and Mutual ( an organization for young men and young women age 12 to 18). My love of the gospel and testimony began to blossom during my youth. It wasn't until I was an adult that I was converted to the truth of Mormonism. The Holy Ghost has born witness to me over and over throughout my life of the truthfulness of Jesus' restored gospel. I remain very active and converted!

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I am so grateful for the blessing of praying to my Heavenly Father. It is very therapeutic for me. Heavenly Father is like my very own personal counselor. I make it a high priority to pray each day. There have been many times that I have felt the love that my Heavenly Father has for me as I pray. That is such a great strength to me. Heavenly Father has taught me things that I need to know for my own personal life. It is so amazing to have a very personal relationship with my Father in Heaven!

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I remember well the first time I felt the influence of the spirit while reading the Book of Mormon. I was a teenager. I was sitting in my bed reading the Book of Mormon before going to bed. As I read a sweet influence came upon me and the thought "this book is true". It was just so warm and comfortable. Since that time I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have always been blessed lifted and edified. My testimony grows stronger with each reading. I love the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Basically, I live my faith by having faith in Jesus Christ. On a daily basis I pray that I can be more like Jesus. I'm grateful for His teachings and I try to live them each and every day.
