Hi I'm Chance

I'm from Arizona. I'm an outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. I love being a father and a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and a husband. I come from a very large family of 8 siblings. I am in my final semester of college and I am graduating in small business and communications. I am a landscape contractor and I love the challenge of designing new backyards. My passion lies in the outdoors, with hunting and fishing being my favorite thing to do. I enjoy playing sports, wakeboarding and snowboarding. I love being married and being a dad.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church all my life, however I still have conversion story of my own. The gospel of Jesus Christ is something that each individual person has to learn about on their own. I've always had a belief and faith in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but it wasn't until I was almost 18 years old and I decided that I needed to pray to the lord to know if this was his true church. I received an answer that was as real as life itself and a confirmation that this is his only true and living church. At that moment, I knew that I would never be alone. There is no doubt in my mind that God loves us and that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for us, so that we can be redeeemed through him. If I was not a member of this gospel, I would be lost and would not have the assurance that families can be together forever. There is no greater joy than a family. God still communicates with his children today, all we have to be willing to do is ask and listen.

How I live my faith

I think that the greatest way to live one's faith is through being an example and providing service. It is important to be honest in my dealings and with the people I associate with. In my line of work, it isn't always the cleanest of environments, so I try to always use clean language and stick to my morals and beliefs. I have had people recognize that I don't use foul language and it has given me an opportunity to share with them my beliefs, religion and why I don't do certain things. Because of the strong conviction I have in my faith, leading by example is a way I live my faith.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Chance
In July 2010, my father passed away. He dealt with a life long struggle of health problems that prohibited his physical abilities. He was baptized into the church one day before he went over to serve in the Vietnam War, where he was wounded and received many of his illnesses from. His faith in his religion was his source of strength and it gave him comfort that even after this life, he would be able to be with his family. Being a Mormon, we know through modern day revelation that husbands, wives and families can be together forever. If we follow the commandments here on earth, we will be rewarded with the opportunity to be an eternal family in heaven. The knowledge I have of eternal families helped me to deal with the death of my father. I knew that families can be together forever, and if I lived my life in accordance to the commandments of the gospel, I would have the chance to see my dad once again. This knowledge also gave me peace in knowing that my father would have the chance to be resurrected and his body would be perfect once again. So many people don't have the understanding that they can be an eternal family and without that knowledge, death can be difficult to deal with. The plan of salvation and happiness, allow us to know that this life is not the end. Families can be together forever. Show more Show less
