For kids, reading the Bible and understanding the scriptures can be a challenge. Here are 6 ways to make the Bible more interesting to your kids.

1. Be excited and share your excitement

Excitement is contagious. Use the Bible to answer questions, share exciting stories that you find, and show your kids that you enjoy the Bible whenever you read it.

2. Teach them how to use it

Show your kids how the Bible is organized. Show them how to look up a verse. Help them memorize the names of each of the books of the Bible. Show them that the Bible can be a useful tool.

3. Explain it

The Bible contains the words of God. Explain the history of the Bible to your kids, and help them understand how they fit into the stories.

4. Give them a place to start

Challenge your kids to start reading somewhere. You can figure out what interests them and have them start reading a chapter that applies.

5. Show them how to apply it

The Bible is more than just fun stories, it is the word of God. Show your kids how to apply biblical precepts to real-life circumstances and trials.

6. Encourage memorization

Sometimes, memorization is easier for kids than reading the material is. Help your kids memorize verses by working on them over and over until they know them by heart. Using music can also help with memorization.
