A Time and a Season

A “happily ever after” is possible if we choose to follow righteous examples from the scriptures, but it’s important to remember that striving to follow those righteous examples isn’t a guarantee that we’ll never feel sad. There is a time and a season for everything, including emotions of all kinds. How we respond to the seasons of our lives is what really matters.

In the scriptures are many examples of choices individuals made and their consequences. We can be happier when we learn from and apply the goodness we discover, especially as we follow the perfect example of the Savior.

Following scriptural examples of faith, obedience, service, and gratitude can help us through the challenges of this life and lead us toward our very own “happily ever after.”

Faith

Believing in God makes it much easier for Him to help you, guide you, comfort you, and lead you to more happiness. By exercising your faith in Him, you’ll never walk alone.

Obedience

Obedience to God’s commandments can fill our lives with peace and happiness. It’s a wonderful way to say “I love you” and “I trust you” to the Lord.

Moses understood the value of the Ten Commandments and how obedience to them would result in peace and happiness for the children of Israel. Following the Ten Commandments will still lead us to greater happiness today.

Service

Service has a way of opening up our hearts to good feelings that are difficult to find any other way. It helps us overcome selfishness and become more like the Savior. Christ taught that when we care for others we are also serving Him (see Matthew 25:40).
