About Me

I have always loved going to school and learning, especially math. I admit it I am somewhat of a nerd. I teach math to middle school students and can never pass up a good book. I also enjoy watching and playing sports. Football in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring and summer are the mainstays. I enjoy playing basketball and ultimate frisbee. I recently moved back west to be closer to family; I miss my friends out east but feel like I've come home being west again.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine my life not knowing or understanding God's plan for us. Everyone has different trials in life and through my own trials and experiences it is the knowledge that I am a child of God and that I can live with Him again someday that have provided the strength I have needed to persevere when things were tough.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

Understanding the Plan of Happiness helps me maintain perspective about life's experiences. We all have expectations and plans for our lives, both short- and long-term and when things don't go accordingly it is easy to get discouraged and question things. When life doesn't go as planned, my knowledge that God is my Heavenly Father help me remember that the experience is helping me become the person He wants me to become. More than anything in life I would like to be a wife and mother, but have not yet had the opportunity . There are days when it is hard to watch others have that experience, but my knowledge of the God's plan help me remember the blessings He has bestowed on me and strengthens my faith and hope that one day I will have that opportunity.

How I live my faith

One of the things I enjoy about going to church is the opportunities to serve. Until recently, each week at church I had the opportunity to work with the children. Together we would increase our knowledge of God's plan for us as we studied the scriptures and learned songs that taught different principles of the Mormon faith. Now that I no longer have that responsibility, I have the opportunity to develop my piano skills as I now serve as one of the choir accompanists. Music is one of my favorite ways to express my gratitude to God.
