Nephi
A Book of Mormon prophet who became the leader of his people after they reached the Americas. Out of respect for his righteous leadership, they referred to themselves as Nephites from that time on. Some later Book of Mormon prophets were named after Nephi, and had a part in creating that record, resulting in four separate books of Nephi within the Book of Mormon.
