Hi I'm Michelle Paniagua.
I am the mother of three beautiful children, two of whom have autism. At first it was difficult to accept and adjust to a new way of life with therapies and nutritional diets. I have faith in the resurrection and that I will be able to see them perfect as the Lord has promised. My sister and I own a bilingual school here in our city. I enjoy my time with my students because I teach them what I like and what I know. I like my profession because I can see how my students change and how their lives can be filled with positive things. I am currently working on a new project for the school, where children with different abilities will be able to participate and have the special attention that they need and have a place to develop in different areas. My favorite pastime is to always be busy! I dont like to waste time. I always have little projects going on at home, like writing, working on family history, doing homework with my children, and trying to be a better mother. I love to travel with my family and get to know different places and different people, especially when I get to observe other teachers at work. I believe that our dreams can become reality, if we work hard and put all our efforts into achieving them. Time is very important to me it is the best tool we have to achieve our purposes and our goals!
Why I am a Mormon
I have always been a member of the Church. My father has been a member since he was five years old. My brother, my sister and I grew up in the Church and had the great opportunity to participate in all of the programs that have been designed for the children and youth. It might seem like this is easy, but it isnt, because I had to learn the truth for myself. It helped a lot to be a missionary in Panama because I came to understand that it is not easy to change one way of life for another. I saw the great sacrifices that people made in order to follow the Savior and learn to do what He requires, and then I was able to better appreciate having had the gospel in my life since childhood. I have been very happy in the Church. I have really enjoyed the activities because they have helped me improve my life and try to be a better person. I still have many more things to learn, but I know that in the Church I can find the help that my family and I need. I dont know what its like to be outside the Church, nor what it is like to not attend church on Sunday, and I wouldnt change that for anything. I have found peace and hope in being Mormon.
How I live my faith
Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ is a natural way of living easy and simply. It is more than following rules, it is simply doing correct things. As members of the Church, we have the opportunity to improve our lives, individually, as a family, as professionals, and as part of our communities. We can be a light to the world by doing small and simple things that help to improve our environment. We learn that we have great potential and that we can achieve anything we desire.
