Hi I'm Chelsea
I'm a convert to the church, baptized on April 15th, 2012. I'm a student studying PoliSci and I want to work in politics. I love to read! I love all books but realistically I'm a nerd who reads about the history of America and politics and a sap who reads Austen and Bronte like it's my job. I love everything New York since I'm from there. I love music. I play a few instruments. I like to speak French since my whole family is from French speaking countries but realistically I only know un peu and fudge the rest. I also love love love flowers! And singing! And Jesus Christ!
Why I am a Mormon
I was a practicing Catholic when the missionaries found me. When I was an investigator I knew that whether I decided to get baptized or not this Church was special. There was something different about Mormons that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Like why they're always happy. I've come to know it as the Spirit. I have not seen the Spirit so strong in any other church. And the truth that this church has is undeniable! I belong with this church and I am eternally grateful that it found me. Church is true!
Could you talk about your baptism?
My baptism is one of the most memorable days of my life. I was so nervous but after it happened I felt wonderful. I truly felt that I did the right thing and that Heavenly Father was happy. I will never forget the sense of family with all the people that were there. There was so much hugging and crying, it was beautiful. I feel blessed and I am thankful everyday for the decision that I made.
How I live my faith
I help the missionaries as much as I can! Whether it's tabling at our school, going door to door with them or helping at lessons. I try my hardest to be a good example. I want people to look at me and say, "Why is she so awesome? I want that." I share the gospel that I know is true with my friends. I stick by my guns and dare to stand alone! If you see a girl wearing sleeves in Florida in the summer say hey, that'd be me! Jesus sacrificed a lot more and I like to remember that. I try to emulate Him as much as possible and fulfill my duty as a ward missionary. And when the time comes a full-time missionary!
