Hi I'm Skylar

About Me

I am a firm believer in changing the world, through Activism, Music, Art or whatever talent God has blessed you with. As you can tell Activism, Music, and Art is the foundation of Skylar as well my Faith, Family, and Friends. I love the quote "Because I have been given much, I too must give". I feel I have been blessed with so much that I need to give back. Creativity and Imagination is something that I have LOVED always and held very near to my heart. I know that it was my purpose in life to give back what I could imagine and create. I am involved in a non profit organization called "Invisible Children". Through the work of many in Invisible Children we have accomplished the impossible. I have been involved in stopping a raging war in East Africa, that has been occurring for over 25 years and saving the defenceless who are known as "child soldiers". I am from a city called Murrieta, Southern California. I grew up on Mexican food, rock n roll and the California beach. I love learning about different cultures.I love Africa especially Nothern Uganda and the Achole tribe! I was in the first ever church official British Pageant. I am a Spaniard, a Missionary, an Activist and I’m a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon? A question I am often asked. I am a Mormon because I have received a personal witness that this church is Jesus Christ’s true church restored upon the face of the Earth. I have received an answer that I can NOT deny. I am a Mormon because I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and ask God the eternal Father in the name of Christ if the Book of Mormon was really true. I know that if the Book of Mormon is true, the church is true, that there is a true living Prophet today, that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really is Christ’s church restored in these latter days. It all falls upon the Book of Mormon with that simple question to ask God. It is so simple! People often ask me "what if you weren’t a Mormon?" My reply is well I don’t know being a Mormon is who I am and that is Skylar Duran living the gospel is what I love and live for. Living a Christ like life is true happiness.

How I live my faith

How I live my LIFE? By being happy! I once heard life is a garden ... dig it! The gospel always leads to joy and happiness.I am currently serving a two year mission in the England Manchester Mission. I go day to day speaking with countless people about Jesus Christ and His sacrifice that He has made for all of us. I am learning a couple different languages to communicate with some of the different nationalities that live in Great Britain. My purpose as a Missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. You are not hard core unless you live hardcore and thats by living the the good news of Jesus Christ :D
