Rhiannon: Mormon.

Hi I'm Rhiannon

About Me

i have cerebral palsy. I have two sisters. I am the only member of the church in my family. My interests are playing on the computer, talking to friends and spending time with my niece and nephew. I graduated high school with honors and a 4.0 GPA in 2009. I was unable to attend church for five years. Then i said a special prayer and was able to return to church in January of 2011. Since then i have earned my young women medallion. I am currently work toward earning my honor bee for my medallion.

Why I am a Mormon

My families faith has been truly tested since the day I was born. I say this because the doctors told my mom that I didn’t have a chance of making it because I was only 2lbs and 5ozs. My mom then looked at the doctors and said yes she does because she is my little fighter. The doctors then told her that I wouldn’t be able to walk because they didn’t think I had enough muscle tone. Come to find out they discovered that I had too much of it. They told her that they felt that I needed to have physical therapy in order to try to get my muscles stronger. I started physical therapy when I was 3 years old and I continued with it until I was 12 years old. I had to receive eight surgeries before I ever got out of elementary school. My faith had been tested all through out school. I say this because I had to have a parapro to help me during my school years. When I started school I was also given a laptop to assist me in school I constantly struggled during school. When I started high school I was blessed with another parapro who goes to church with me. That was one of the greatest blessings I had received. I was doubtful of myself during those years. The reason for this was because the teachers told my mom and I that they didn’t think I could pass the graduation tests. I looked at the teachers and said do not ever under estimate my abilities and what I can do. After I talked to them my parpro helped me to keep my faith in Jesus Christ. She also encouraged me to read my scriptures to help me. She told me to be prayerful and to trust in heavenly father. When she said that to me I said ok I will have to go home today and everyday and read my scriptures . Through trying. I failed again, I decided that I needed to pray again. After I prayed that last time I was finally able to reach my goal and I had passed all of the tests. I graduated not only with a regular diploma but also with honors. Never under estimate the power of prayer no how big or small it might be.

How I live my faith

I am only able to attend church every other Sunday. I live my faith by being an example to my friends and family. I read and study my scriptures daily. I know that my Jesus Christ died for me. and that through him i will be saved. As I strive daily to live his gospel principles everyday. I know that Joseph Smith was a living prophet and that the church has been restored. I am blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has brought and continues to bring so much joy into my life.
