Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost is a constant guide to me each day as I go about my daily activities. He whispers peace to my mind when I am troubled about something. I try each day to listen to the still, small voice of the Holy Ghost. There is much noise in the world that easily crowds out the promptings of the Holy Ghost, but if I listen carefully, I have been blessed to be guided and helped. Sometimes the way the Holy Ghost helps me are through thoughts, ideas or impressions of things I should do. I try to listen and follow the impressions I have. For example, I have been prompted to call a friend and later found out it was a particularly difficult time for them and my call was much needed and appreciated. I receive guidance from the Holy Ghost that helps me to be a better parent and wife. The gift of the Holy Ghost is a blessing each day to me.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church aas a pianist for the children's organization. I love to hear the children sing about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also work with the eight and nine year old girls in a bimonthly program where we learn about serving others, living the teachings of Jesus and developing skills and talents. I visit three sisters each month to see how they are doing spiritually and otherwise. I care about these sisters and enjoy our association.
