Well i currently go to high school and I'm a very strong member in the LDS Church. I enjoy playing the piano and violin and I'm on the swim team for my high school. my favorite subject i like to read or talk about, concerning the Church, is life after death and what is to happen before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I've read many books and many of the scriptures pertaining to those subjects. I also like to read about the pre- existence and what it was like before. If you too are interested in these subjects I highly recommend these books: Life Everlasting by Duane S. Crowther, and Prophecy key to the future also by Duane S. Crowther. You can find these books in the Desert Bookstore, but if you are an investigator and just started looking into what we believe i would start in the scriptures first and learning the basics first!
Well i was born and raised in the Church and my parents have taught me to live righteously. I know this Church to be true because I can feel the Spirit here and I've prayed about weather these things are true and i have many good feelings and inspirations from the Spirit that is it. That is why I'm Mormon and I'm blessed to be one.
Well on my 15th birthday, I was having a pretty normal day. But two hours before my party, a great sickness came over me. I turned pale, I was shaking, I had a headache and I was dizzy. Lastly I vomited three times. And all of it was so sudden that I had no idea what to do. So after I had vomited I went on my knees and prayed to Heavenly Father to relieve me of this horrible pain. So after I had finished praying I went into my bed to see if I could feel better (didn't really work). But then, while lying down, I felt a strong, impression to ask my father for a blessing. At first I thought I didn't need one but then I felt the same impression again, this time stronger. So I got up and went over to my dad and asked for him for a blessing. I explained to him how sick I was and that I really needed one. So he need. He gave me a blessing for the sick and a father's blessing. As he said the words, I immediately felt all the pain go away. It was like my head and stomach was being drained of all the pain. Tears came and I was so thankful that I listened to the Holy Spirit. Once my dad was finished, I got up and hugged him and thanked him. I felt so much love for my father and my Heavenly Father. It was such a spiritual experience for me and even though I went through so much pain and hurt, I'm glad it happened. It has definitely strengthened my testimony of the priesthood and the true power that it has from Heaven. I know that through great faith that all things are possible, even if it seems impossible. I know these things are true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Well i attend church every Sunday and I'm very active in combined activity nights and scouts. When i was deacon i was called to a Deacon Quorum President and at first i didn't like the sound of it. I was never good with being a leader or giving orders. But I accepted and it was a blessing that i accepted. At first it was hard to get use to the idea of being a leader and i was scared, but eventually i got over it. Now i think that it was supposed to happen to improve my leadership and social skills. Another way i practice my faith is doing home-teaching with my partner every month.
