Hi I'm Kristen
I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom. It was always a dream of mine to be a mother, and I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father blessed my husband and me with four children. Three of our children are here to make me smile, make me proud, teach me, give me hugs and kisses, and drive me crazy daily. Our oldest lives in heaven and blesses me with a constant reminder that families can be together forever! Food makes me happy! I'm a total foodie and I love to try new things. Whether it is cooking or baking, I love it all! Food seems to bring our family together, and I love the moments we share as we sit around the table with one another. . .for better or worse! :) I have a love for anything Disney and I'm always looking for someone new to share my addiction with! I've become a soccer mom this season with all three playing, and I'm finding, I'm not the "quiet, sit on the sidelines and watch," kind of mom. I am proud of my children and I get excited!
Why I am a Mormon
I was born a Mormon, but that's not why I am one. I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it to be true. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ lives, and that he died on the cross for me. I know that he suffered great pain and agony for us all and that because of his great gift, The Atonement, I can be forgiven of my sins. I know that he knows my pains, my fears, my weaknesses, and he understands them all. He is there to let me cast my burdens upon him, that I might find rest and comfort in him. I love my Savior. I have a testimony of the power of prayer, and of latter-day prophets. My Father in Heaven loves me and wants to communicate with me. How grateful I am that he is there to always listen. He hears and answers our prayers. He knows each one of us individually, and he wants us to be happy and to live our lives in such a way that we can one day return to live with Him.
How I live my faith
I am currently a teacher in our Young Women's program. This program is for girls 12-18 years old. Each week I teach the girls who are ages 16-18. I feel so privileged to work with these young women! They have amazing spirits about them. I am touched weekly as I teach my lessons, read from the scriptures, and share personal experiences with them. On Wednesday nights we have a youth activity where the girls learn to better themselves, prepare for their futures, and just have fun being with one another.
