Chat With a Mormon Online
I spent most of my growing up years in Wilmington,Delaware; where for the majority of my school years I was the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Upon Graduation from High School I attended Brighman Young University where I met and married the love of my life (no really he is). We have been married 40 years and counting. We have 6 children-2 daughters and 4 sons. And, YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! we have 20 Grandchildren 12 grandsons, and 8 granddaughters--that is at last count. My husband served for 28 years in the United States Air Force, and now builds custom furniture. For the past 20 years, I have worked in the local School District with severe needs students. We love to take road trips, and spend time with our children and grandchildren. I enjoy painting, knitting, crocheting, biking, and swimming---sorry not cooking.
I was born into the church. Both of my parents were members. We went to church every Sunday, and for some reason I have always had a testimony. Why have I continued to be a member of the Church? That is a very good question. I know that I love my Heavenly Father and trust him. I have experienced several hard times, and the beginning of the Young Women's theme: "I am the daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me, and I love Him..." Has been my guiding light and hope when all seems hopeless. I have never doubled my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel even when others have taunted and rediculed me. My Savior is my Elder Brother, and I love him and appreciate him for his atoning sacrifice. There is no other way for me. I love the Temple, and the spirit that resides there. I love life, I love my Husband, and all of our children.
Each time I reread the Book of Mormon I learn new principles and concepts, and I gain a more personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and my elder Brother Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit becomes stronger within my being, and I become more sensitive to those promptings. I feel a greater peace and a fullness within myself as I continue to study and read this precious book. I am so thankful that I have its sacred words to help and guide me on this earthly journey which can often be very hard, and very joyful.
I have always accepted every calling that has been issuede to me. My very favorite yet most time consuming callings have involved the youth. I love working with the youth. I always try to complete my Visiting Teaching every month, and for the most part succees. I have always supported my husband and our children in their callings.
