Hi I'm Taylor

About Me

2011: I love to draw and paint. I try to add meaning to my artwork. I really like to use oil pastels and draw landscapes. My technique is more of painting with oil pastels, kind of like with watercolors. I will be getting ready to go off to college here soon. I'm excited for a new adventure. Where ever I go, I know that the Lord is watching out for me. 2014: I still love art! I am an art major at BYU Idaho about to start my Senior year in the fall. I have enjoyed taking Graphic Design classes and hope to become a lot better at what I do. As I said back in 2011, I was excited for a new adventure, and it has been adventure after adventure! I have had a great time learning and studying at BYU Idaho as well as making many new friends and learning about life. The Lord has been watching out for me. I know that from the people that He placed in my life the past 3 years at school. It has been such a great experience! My testimony has grown in Christ, my Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost. They are there for me. I am a daughter of God, quite literally. I represent my Savior in all I do. Knowing that, I try my best to make sure I am a good representative of Him.

Why I am a Mormon

My Dad is a lifelong member of the church and introduced my mom to the gospel. As a result, I was born under the covenant. I love the gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, and answers my prayers. I also know that if we are doing what is right, the Spirit will always be there to help us out, even with the simplest of things. I love to listen to General Conference every 6 months. I know that the teachings we are taught are true and for our benefit. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet on the earth today here to guide us. Joseph Smith did restore the gospel. I'm so thankful for it. I'm a Latter Day Saint because I know it is the truth.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost can help you to know all things, if you are in tune to the Spirit. We have the ability to receive revelation about whatever we want to know. If we are sincere and faithful, we will receive our answers. My first experience that I remember was when I was young and my siblings and I were looking for my Mom's lost slipper. Well, I had the thought to look behind this crate. I didn't think it would be back there and kept looking elsewhere. Later, my Mom found her slipper behind the crate. I learned that I need to always be listening to the Spirit and act on the promptings that I receive. This is a wonderful blessing our Heavenly Father has given us. I know that we can receive many blessings through the Holy Ghost (the Spirit). He can bring us comfort, knowledge, warnings, and so much more, if we are listening and willing and ready to act upon those promptings.

How I live my faith

2011: I have been on my Stake Youth Committee for almost 2 years. I have enjoyed serving the other youth in the stake and my stake leaders. I do the best that I can do. Our most recent activity was planning our 10 stake youth conference. I loved being able to help, and even come early to get a little more tasks accomplished. My biggest assignment was to say the opening prayer in front of 1500+ people! I was nervous, but with faith and a priesthood blessing, I was able to give a nice prayer to start off our youth conference. I have also served in my Young Women class presidencies, and was able to receive my Young Women medallion as a Beehive. It has been great to share with others my talents. I know that they are gifts from God, and as I try to be like Him, he will bless me. 2014: I live my faith by striving to choose the right. The Lord blesses me when I sincerely show that I am trying to do my best. I may may mistakes but I know that I can repent and be forgiven. Sharing my testimony through my actions, words, art, and on social media are very beneficial. By doing so, I can grow knowing that I am doing my best to share the word of God, and others can learn from me what I have learned and hopefully be able to come unto Christ. It really is about doing the simple things in life. We are asked to keep His commandments. We have to be persistent and constant in keeping these commandments. Reading the scriptures, listening to the prophet and apostles speak, paying tithing, giving fast offerings, bearing one another's burdens. It is all to help us, and to help us help others. And when we help others, we are helping ourselves too because the Lord then in return blesses both lives. I live my faith by striving day to day to be better than the last day. If I mess up, I repent and once again strive to better.
