Hi I'm Wilfredo Hernandez
I'm a Bricklayer, I have five kids ages 25, 23, 16, 15 and 12
Why I am a Mormon
I heard about the church through my brother in1991. He later asked me if I would like to invite the missionaries to my home because they had an important message to give me and my family. After I had the first discussion with the missionaries, I was impressed by their teachings and it sparked my interest. However, when the missionaries asked me to pray I felt embarrassed and didn't want to pray in front of them, so I decided to ask many questions to try to confuse them to draw them out of my home, but to my surprised they answered all my questions clearly. I later asked the missionaries to leave. My wife however wanted to be baptised and one day when I went home I found that she had left, all she had left behind was a copy of the Book of Mormon. I was angry and was about to throw the book away when I felt that I must read it. I read the Book of Mormon all night and prayed, and that is where my testimony started. I knew that night that the Book was true. I later was baptised with my wife and my testimony has kept growing. I know that the church is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and through him he restored the gospel in the later days. I believe that the priesthood is the power and authority of God. I know that our saviour loves us and knows us individually, I am grateful for the blessings I have received for having the gospel in my life. It has brought me true joy.
How I live my faith
Currently I have a church calling in missionary work. I organize the agenda with the missionaries and I oversee the progress of new investigators. Moreover, I go out to peoples homes with the missionaries, and invite them to come to Christ.
