Hi I'm Ariana
I am a simple daughter, sister, and friend and I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My family is everything to me. My dad is from Iran and that is a large part of my identity. From that I have a love for the world, other cultures, religions, languages and people and have an insatiable curiosity to travel forever. The outdoors is another large part of my life. I feel most myself under the stars, barefoot, on a rock wall, or on top a peak. Nature is a source of learning and solace in my life where I constantly am reminded of the truth of the Lord through her creation. Ever since becoming a member of this church, I have seen the works of the Lord in all things as I travel through life's adventures every day and I hope I can share this happiness and inspiration that I have found with you.
Why I am a Mormon
This is a simple question with a more complex answer than you would think. If I could describe the feelings that I feel through living the gospel, I would. So what makes me wake up every day with a passion to keep learning and living what I believe? I have found that 'here' is where it is completely whole. It is recharging. There is nothing that it cannot heal. I am a Mormon because the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Love. It is Trust. It is Happiness. It is everything we hold insecure that we lack in our lives that exists to make us whole. The relationship that I have found with my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father are something more than simply figures of power who judge and forgive me. My savior is my brother. He is my friend. No where else did I feel I could have a relationship with the Lord as I have learned through this gospel. In times where I have felt alone, I have felt embraced. I really just cannot express how beautiful to experience this is. I am a Mormon because I have found my purpose through losing myself in the work of this gospel. I am a daughter of God who exists to grow and to help others discover their existence. I exist to find and experience joy. The gospel IS pure JOY. It is these feelings of truth, light, and love that testify of the truth of what I learn every day and inspire me to better myself every day.
How I live my faith
I try to go to bed being a better person than I was when I awoke. No can be perfect. It can be intimidating going to Church and feeling inadequate to be there either because you feel you don't know anything or you feel like you have too much baggage compared to everyone from what you can see. However, my mother always told me that the Church is not a hotel for saints, but a hospital for sinners. No one is perfect. We all come to Church to seek peace in our lives because the nature of the world right now disrupts that peace. We go to Church to find refuge. Everyone has their baggage, but what more we have in common is that we are trying to become better people despite it. In the Church, we are all equal. The business man to the rice farmer, the men to the women, the teacher to the student, ever culture and race to each other. We all are striving our best every day, and our best is enough. Through guidance of prayer, and trying to be like our Savior's example through service and taking care of our wellbeing and others', we cannot go wrong.
