Amy Jensen: Mormon.

Hi I'm Amy Jensen

About Me

I am a return missionary and served in Louiseville, Kentucky, USA. I recieved a Masters degree and am an elementary school teacher. I love dogs and have 2 of my own. I spend time with my family and friends, teaching children, taking care of my dogs, traveling, listening to music, watching and playing sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am proud Mormon! When I was 12, my only parent passed away from cancer. That really shook up my childhood. I clung onto the church especially the young woman's program. Knowing the gospel principal of eternal families has been the main reason of following Jesus Christ's church. I love attending the temple and feeling God's love and being near my mom's presence. The veil is thinner than we think it is. Our loved ones who have passed on from this earth are our guiding angels who wants us to return to them and to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We go on missions because we love our Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Teaching the gospel to people is part of the Church's mission and a duty to the members of the faith. We want to serve them by helping in bringing their other children to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also feel very blessed in our lives and want to give back what we can to God for providing our blessings. Serving a mission is one of several ways to give back to God. We do not get paid to serve a mission we pay the church to go. Some families do make finacial sacrifices and other sacrifices such as spending time with their friends and family, jobs, social life, school, and wordly possessions to serve God.

How I live my faith

I am currently one of the Sacrament program coordinators; I have taught in the women's group at church. I also have taught Sunday school and the basic teachings of the gospel. I love to volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity and I am also a Big Sister mentor for the Big Brother Big Sister organization. I know that I am not perfect but I strive each day to follow Jesus Christ's teachings and be his hands in serving my family and friends and in my community. I try to treat others the way I would want to be treated with respect and love.
