Richard: Mormon.

Hi I'm Richard

About Me

I grew up in a loving family who taught me to love the Lord, and appreciate the gifts He has given us. My hobbies include art, any form of visual art, animals, pocket watch collecting, and playing games. I am now serving on a mission for the Lord's church to share with others the joy I've been given through living the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I recognize, and am grateful for, the blessings that come from living the gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, in spite of the trials I face. I know that He has brought peace within my family. The church has also shown me what I can become, and the gospel helps me to improve myself each day.

Personal Stories

Why do Mormons go on missions?

The purpose of going on a mission is to invite others to come unto Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and faithfully living the rest of their lives according to Christ's gospel. Each missionary may have their own reasons as well for serving a mission. I came out to serve others because I am grateful for the blessings that the Lord has given me, and I want to share those blessings with others by inviting them to find out how this can bless them. This is a wonderful work!

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon gives me the calm assurance that God loves me, and it provides me with answers I seek in life. Before I came out to serve a mission, I experienced a terrible emotional trial. I began to doubt, and wondered why God would allow me to suffer so much pain. I was told to read the Book of Mormon. I then took that wise counsel, and read it, hoping I would find that answer that I desparately needed. As I read, I came across a verse which told me that I shouldn't doubt my possibility of finding happiness. I realized at that moment, that the trial I was going through was my trial of faith, and that if I endured it well and pressed forward, I will find that happiness. Reading that verse gave me something to look forward to. I know that God loves me, as He does all of His children, and I know that He shows us His love today.

How I live my faith

I strive to live a life of example for those around me. I love others by serving them in any way I can. As a missionary, I answer people's questions, and help them to feel God's love so they can bring themselves closer to Him.
