Chat With a Mormon Online
I'm a 71-year old man who loves sports, music and best of all my wife and our 11 children and 16 grandchildren. I play piano and sing. I sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and directed many church choirs over the years in different locations. I enjoy gardening, playing racquetball, and spending time with my grown children and grandchildren. People like to talk to me. I'm a good listener and people say I'm very loving. I love to be with our Westy dog and cute cat. My kids call me the "pet magnet." I've had many successes as a professional in the mental health field.
My parents were not active in the Mormon Church. I developed an interest through the scouting program when I was 13. I got into many leadership positions, served a mission to Brazil, and have continued to be active in the church my entire life. I love to teach people about the church. My testimony has developed as I studied many religions and found out for myself that I don't just belong to another church, but the true church, andI know that God lives and answers prayers very personally and directly. I found that God is consistent with his commandments and when I live by them God is bound to bless me as he promises he will.
My talents in music blesses the lives of others The saviors teaching about "seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness" along with the principles he taught on the sermon on the mount and in his sacred appearance of the early inhabitants in the Americas has had a huge impact on me..
I read a chapter or two out of the Book of Mormon daily. What is written applies so much to my daily thoughts and prayers it feels like Heavenly Father is talking to me directly when I think about what is written and, better, when I pray about it. The Book of Mormon is my greatest source for personal revelation. It directs me in so many aspects of my thinking. Best of all it confirms my testimony that Jesus is the Christ and that he loves all of our Father in Heaven's children. He is constantly there when I approach him humbly and sincerely. I invite others to read the Book of Mormon as it is scripture that will bring us closer to God than any other scripture. I also enjoy reading the Bible. The Book of Mormon complements the truths that are taught in the Bible. It's great to have two witnesses that testify of Christ's divine mission.
I have served in many leadership positions in the church. I'm happiest when serving others as I presently do in the Bishopric. I am responsible for calling people into various positions of responsibility in the church, conduct meetings, help with the missiionaries, Primary children and their teachers. I love the association with other men and women who are great examples of living the happy life. I attend the temple regularly and lead my family home evenings, scripture devotionals, and attend church regularly. All of our nine sons have served or are serving as missionaries in various places in this county and in foreign countries. I hope to continue helping people through our church welfare system.
