Chat With a Mormon Online
I am the Mother of 6 beautiful children who make me proud to be their Mother everyday. I love to make things it doesn't matter if it's cooking a meal for my family or creating a card for a friend.
I am a member because I had an answer to a prayer. I wanted to know for myself if God spoke to a 14yr old boy. I could not deny the answer I received that it was true. If that was true then, the Book of Mormon was true.
The missionaries had been coming to our house for a few weeks talking to my parents. They one day called me in to sit and talk with them. My parents told me that they wanted to become members of this church that we had been visiting. Because I was 8yrs old I needed to know what they were teaching because I was old enough to be baptized as well. So I sat and listened. At the time I was doing it because my parents wanted me to and I didn't think I really had a choice. Later as I went to church and listened to what I was being taught it all seemed so familiar to me. I know that as I got older I needed to learn for myself all the things my parents had learned when they were meeting with the missionaries. I read the Book of Mormon for myself and prayed about things I had questions about and I received answers. As a child I went to church out of obedience. As a young adult I found out for myself and I know the answers I received are true.
Well, Prayer has always been a important part of my life. I don't ever remember a time that it hasn't been. I have always known that anything that I ask at some point gets answered. I have always felt that I could turned to my Heavenly Father and I would receive comfort or an answer to something that was causing stress in my life. I have always know that this life is meant to be a challenge and we are here to grow and to expand our knowledge. We have a loving God who watches over us and is aware of us and know s us each by name and wants us to call on him and he will be there for us.
I try to take the council we are given every Sunday and act on it everyday. Our religion isn't something you do on Sunday and forget about the rest of the week. It's something you are trying to improve upon everyday.
