Hi I'm Deena
I am a mother and stepmother to our 6 children. I currently work full-time in the healthcare field. When I get a chance, my hobbies are drawing, reading, gardening and decorating. I like to spend time with my kids and most of the time we are running at the speed of light, trying to juggle our childrens' schedules between households.
Why I am a Mormon
As a teenager I struggled with who I was and my purpose in life. When I became a mother, I knew I wanted to teach my children morals and direction in their lives that they wouldn't get from the influences of the world. After an invite from a neighbor in a new place we had moved, I started going back to church. My testimony began, I knew my Heavenly Father loved me, and that I was in the right place for myself and my children.
How has attending Church services helped you?
Attending church on a regular basis is like resetting a compass for me. I am renewed spiritually, and it helps me refocus on where I am going in my life, even if it is only for that week or the next few days. I also find strength from listening to others at church, knowing that I am not alone in my struggles, and that Heavenly Father is strengthening me through the trials I experience here on earth. I have learned more about the gospel and what it means to me, as I have attended church. It has also helped me strengthen my own family, to recognize what my children will need to withstand the temptations and filth of the world as they grow up.
How I live my faith
I am currently serving as a teacher in our womens' organization one Sunday each month. I also serve as a visiting teacher, visiting with certain women each month in their homes, helping to teach and uplift them and serve them when their need arises.
