Chat With a Mormon Online
I'm a husband, father and grandfather. I'm the Director of Sales for a international clothing manufacture.
While growing up, I kept asking, if there is one God, why are there so many different churches? The other question I had was - if I had been born into another family, that had another religion, would that mean that I had to follow that religion as well or did I have a choice? Growing up in a Mennonite community, I was taught that God always hears and answered prayers. While praying about which church I should take my family to, I decided to check out the Mormon Church. From previous experiences where God had answered my prayers, I had full confidence that He would let me know if this was the church that I should join. I received that confirmation. The two single best decisions I have ever made in my life have been to marry my wife and to join the Mormon Church.
Mormons go on missions and pay for their own missions because they believe the gospel is true and they want others to have these same blessings
Before joining the Mormon Church, I had a period of time where I wasn't saying my prayers very often, if at all. After six months of unemployment, I decided I needed some help, so I started praying again. I started to feel more hopeful, but I still couldn't find a job. One night I finally humbled myself. I pleaded with God to help me find a job so that I could support my family. In turn, I promised Him that I would to be honest in my dealing with my fellow men and that I would do whatever He wanted me to do. The next morning the phone rang. It was a call regarding the first of three interviews for a wonderful job that I'd have for the next seven years. Since that time, He continues to hear and answer my prayers.
I'm not perfect, but I'm trying to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. To me, the Gospel is simple. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like things that are too complicated. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35
