Chat With a Mormon Online
I am a college student. I'm eighteen years old and I love to film and write! My friends are incredibly important to me as is my parents and family. I enjoy hanging out and playing board games. Music is amazing and I love to listen to my ipod and reading books like Harry Potter and Pendragon. Fantasy is my favorite genre.
I am a mormon because I firmly believe that it is what brings happiness. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he has died to save me and that he was ressurected and conquered death. I continue my faith because I know what it feels like to dissapoint him and what it is like to be confused and I don't enjoy feeling that. This gospel is true and gives me direction and a light to see in my life and a unmatched happiness that could be found no where else.
Attending church services usually is the answer to my prayers. Christ usually gives the opportunity to his sons and daughters to be his instruments rather than simply answering everything himself. Usually I will hear someone say something at church that will be a direct answer to my prayer. Church recharges my batteries and allows me to take the sacrament and try to strive harder this next week to live like him.
I share the gospel with friends because I love them. I know it's true and I know it brings happiness. I remember one time, one of my friends was being severly influenced by some of the darker powers of this life. I remember praying with all my heart that they would experience the spirit that would refresh and guide them. After my prayer, and being around them for some time, we went to a spiritual program our church provided. I remember seeing them in tears of joy. They wanted to thank everyone on the stage for what they had done and I remember realizing in a powerful and moving way, that the Lord too wanted me to share the gospel with my friends, and when I did, he was well pleased with me.
Prayer is one of the most important parts of my life. There is nothing greater or more uplifting then to know that no matter what is happening around me, no matter where I am, no matter what I'm doing, God is only a prayer away, and I know he listens to everyone's prayers. Why would he not? He loves us. Prayer can provide peace, even in times that seem impossible for peace to reside. Prayer can bring comfort, answers, healing, and many other things. Prayer, by far, is one of the greatest gifts I have in my life.
I attend my Sunday meetings whenever it is possible. On occasion, I must work on a Sunday, but should I ever get the chance to go to church or when I can find someone to cover my shift, I go to those three meetings. I make sure I pay attention. I pray to my heavenly father every night and every morning as well as study his word as well as the words of the prophet. I also listen to the free podcast of LDS conference talks and do my hometeaching and try to fulfill my priesthood callings.
