Hi I'm Adriana
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1967. I am a convert to the Church. I love to knit and learn about organic gardening. I have a passion for learning new things and enjoy country music. I am a mother of three grown children. I have traveled extensively and worked for the education system. I love to learn about the origin of words and linguistics. I speak Spanish, English and Italian, the language of my grandparents. I love to make things with my hands. If I had the chance to live another life I would become a Nautical Engineer in order to build ocean liners. I love to learn about them since I was a little girl. Currently I am serving a mission for our church with my husband. We started in 2011 and will be done in about 6 months.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I believe in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I met the missionaries when I was a teenager and wanted to learn more about God. I was introduced to the Book of Mormon and was baptized immediately after that. I know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I believe that the Church is true because I have prayed, fasted and tried to live my life worthy to receive the influence of the Holy Ghost which testifies that the gospel is true.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
We know that the gospel is true and that the "good tithings" should be shared with the world. We want to bring this message to everyone to help them hold to "the iron rod" and partake of the love of God. Missionary work can bring us closer to our Heavenly Father through sacrifice, learning and humility.
How I live my faith
I have been active in my various wards all my life. I have been involved in teaching, particularly Sunday School. Currently I am serving a mission and the opportunities to serve are many such as sharing the gospel and teaching in various capacities.
