Amanda: Mormon.

Hi I'm Amanda

About Me

I come from a family of 7; the only girl of four boys! A hard knock life or was I spoiled? Well... let's just say I got the best of both worlds! My summer job on the farm was driving my dad's semi truck through the hay fields while he loaded up the trailer with hay bales! Fun stuff! It took some convincing, but he finally let me do some dirty work like baling hay and stacking bales in the field! That was fun too! It's great living on a farm. Tons of good times. Some may call us farm people hicks, maybe it's true, but I've got some edumacation behind me. I love to help people work out life's struggles we are all familiar with so I am taking the study road of Sociology and absolutely love it! Looking forward to being a counselor some day. No not one of those school counselors, but someone who works with the wide public! It twill be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! One of my favorite things to do is sing and dance to the whatever is playing on the stereo, but it's usually country!

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to feel of my Savior's embrace through my trials. I have come to an understanding of my Savior's role in my life. I have gained a personal relationship with Him as I have applied the principles I have learned through the Book of Mormon. This book is truly "another testament of Jesus Christ" and has taught me how to have peace, happiness, and joy, in this life, through Christ. I know that I can receive eternal joy, peace, and happiness with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by relying on them and trying to follow Christ's example in all that I do! This gospel, which is the message of what Christ has done, gives me peace beyond what any other source can give me. I know my Savior lives!

Personal Stories

Could you talk about your baptism?

I don't remember much about the day I was baptized or the events leading up to it. I was raised in the church, my parents are both active members and have been all of thier lives. They never forced me into making the decision to get baptized, they left the decision up to me. Although I didn't understand a lot of why I needed to get baptized or what it all meant I knew it was right; based on that notion I made the choice to be baptized. I remember having my family there at my baptism and little memories like the fact that my dad almost drowned me in the water. Just kidding, but he did forget to let me plug my nose so I was coughing up water when I came up out of the water. I honestly don't remember much else of what happend, but it has been down the road I realized how blessed my life has been because of that decision I made so long ago. I didn't know everything, but I knew it was right. Because of my decision to comitt myself to Heavenly Father and "witness unto Him" that I was "willing to take upon the name of Christ" and do my best to follow His example I have been able to walk with Him throughout my life with the Gift of the Holy Ghost I received after baptism.

How I live my faith

I am a fulltime missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I spend all of my efforts finding and teaching others of Christ's love for them. I have felt the love of God in my life and have a desire to share that with others in hopes to bring them the full sense of peace and happiness I feel and more!
