Chat With a Mormon Online
I am the middle child from a family of 9 children with 3 brothers and 5 sisters. I am single and enjoy spending time traveling, working, visiting with friends, going to the gym, occasionally playing and watching soccer. I also enjoy watching basketball and hockey, movies - especially romantic comedies, and being with my nieces, nephews, and siblings. Reading self help, business and fiction novels but more realistically listening to them on CD/ipod is something I enjoy. I love to learn. My profession is in sales and most recently selling cars and it is so much fun. I enjoy beaches and warm weather. I am addicted to traveling and want to see the entire world before I die. I have traveled to Europe, Asia and Central America as well as various locations in North America. I spent time as a missionary in Taiwan and learned to speak Mandarin. I learned so much being there and also about myself and God. I would love to continue traveling and studying languages and cultures as an ongoing hobby throughout my life. I am very musical as well and enjoy singing, especially in choirs and playing the piano.
Growing up as a Mormon was a great experience for me. I have from a very early age had a conviction that this church is true. I have always found that it was easier to live God's standards than to not live them and that ultimately life is so much easier and happier when I do. I love that I have peace about who I am, where I am going and what my purpose in life is. Being a mormon is a great way of living. I always have people asking me why I am so happy all the time or at other times they comment that "there is something about...me". I was baptized when I was 8. I felt very peaceful. I knew that I had just done something very special and I could feel God's presence all around me. It was warm and everything felt so distinct and clear. I have often reflected on that experience and felt impressed how at such a young age I had the distinct knowledge on my own of what I had done and that God was aware of me and gave me an answer for myself. I believe that God and His son Jesus Christ really did appear to Joseph Smith. I have read the Book of Mormon so many times and I believe it is true. I have also learned that God answers prayers and that He loves me and he will guide me. The happiness I enjoy in life is a direct result of living the gospel.
My faith is really a personal experience on a daily basis. I pray every morning when I get up and also before I go to bed at night. Often times I say little prayers in my head throughout the day when I am facing a particular challenge or if I have a question. Every member of the church is encouraged to have both personal and family prayers and scripture study on a daily basis and this is something I strive to do. In addition, I enjoy serving in my community and at church. I am a Cub Scout leader and work with boys ages 8 - 10. It is a lot of fun. I served a mission in Taipei, Taiwan where we would teach people the gospel in their homes and also serve in the community - sometimes at hospitals or orphanages. It has been extremely rewarding and I love going back to visit. The people are loving and open with a rich culture. Every month here at home I visit one to three different women in their homes to help out, visit, give support or encouragement. I also love to attend the temple and try to go once a week. It is different from our regular church services. I go to church every Sunday and enjoy singing in the choir.
