Chat With a Mormon Online
I'm the youngest daughter in a family of 8 kids. I grew up playing sports all year round, and playing basketball in high school. I'm a photographer who loves to find that perfect shot. I'm a writer by nature and love the sound of string instruments. I love to listen to those who are struggling and helping them in any way I can; even if it is just listening. I'm a college student waiting on a missionary, who loves to travel the world, the Ukrainian and Russian cultures, and lives to please the Lord.
I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I grew up in Utah where it seems like everyone is a Mormon. A lot of young people here claim they're a Mormon because their parents make them go to church and seminary; not me. I go because I want to, I live each week to go to Sacrament Meeting on Sunday's. I live to feel His love... for me.
I have played the piano since I was a little girl, but I have never felt confident in my abilities. As such, when I was asked to play the piano for an opening hymn in the temple for a group of other youth my age, I froze up and began to shake. I was surrounded by a group I had never met and didn't believe I could do it. Quickly, silently, I said a prayer to my Father, asking Him to help me and calm me and my fears. Immediately after I said, "Amen," I felt a warm assurance wash over me. My fears calmed, my body stilled and I went to play for the group. I didn't play perfectly note for note, but I played perfectly for me, thanks to my Father hearing me.
Every week I go to the Stake House building and help with the special needs youth (and older) who want to come to activities but need a mentor and someone to help and guide them always. It is such a blessing to work with those who have disabilities because I learn so much more from them than I ever could from others.
