Katie: Mormon.

Hi I'm Katie

About Me

I am a wife and soon to be mother. I am a High School Italian teacher. I love to run and do most anything outdoors. I have danced most of my life. I am a graduate student in Theater Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints not only because I believe it is the restored church that Jesus Christ himself established on the earth thousands of years ago, but because it brings me so much joy to be a part of an organization where I can serve my fellow man and come to know who Jesus Christ was by becoming like him. I am Mormon because that means I can share what I know with those I love.

Personal Stories

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I love to tip friends off about any good news I may have whether it be a great new restaurant or a sale going on somewhere in town. The greatest gift I have ever been given in my life is the knowledge that I have a father in Heaven who loves me and is aware of my every need and desire. I love to share that with those I love because it is an incredible gift. I am so lucky to know that when I need help to get through a tough time in my life I can turn to God in prayer. I know that he hears and answers our prayers according to his plan. I want all of my friends to experience the relief and great joy that I do when I can rely upon the Lord for help. When a friend is struggling, I often am inclined to share personal experiences where the gospel of Jesus Christ has buoyed me up in times of trial. I will often invite friends to hear more through attending a church service, or listening to missionaries who serve as full time representatives of the Church. I am grateful to have a wonderful group of friends who will listen when I share things that are so dear and precious to me.

How I live my faith

I am a leader of the youth in my congregation. I work with young women ages 12 to 18 and I love it! We organize wholesome recreational weekly activities, dances, sporting events, and worship meetings. It is such an honor to teach these young people about Jesus Christ and who they can turn to in the time of need. It is important to me to share what I have come to know through study and prayer as it strengthens my own belief and lifts them up to an understanding of their Savior as well. I watch the choices they make each day at school as I teach many of them at the local High School and I am honored to be a part of a group who is not afraid to stand up for what is right even when it is not popular.
