Elizabeth: college student, married, early childhood, Mormon.

Hi I'm Elizabeth

About Me

I am a newly married college student. My selected major is in Early Childhood Education. I love children and my family is the most important thing in my life. When I become a mom, I plan on being a stay-at-home mom because that is extremely important to me. I enjoy spending time outdoors and with friends and family. Activities I enjoy include snowmobiling, cooking, running, hiking, arts and crafts, reading, ballroom dancing, camping, and having Nerf gun / pillow "fights" with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but that's not why I've chosen to continue in this religion. When I was young, I remember kneeling in prayer. After I closed the prayer in the Savior's name, instead of jumping into bed like I normally did, I stayed on my knees and listened. I cannot remember the content of my prayer, but I do remember the answer I received. I was filled with a warmth, and felt like Heaven surrounded me. I felt like Heaven had entered my room, and I felt my Heavenly Father's complete love for me fill me. Since that day, I have studied the scriptures consistently, and have felt a continual witness of their truth. I also continue to pray, and am able to feel The Spirit as I pray with sincerity and real intent. The spirit I receive from living my life in accordance to gospel doctrine and principles is such that I know that this church is true.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending Church always gives me the spiritual strength and boost that I need each week, and as I am able to attend other Church activities and meetings I am able to get the constant reminder of who I am and of my infinite worth. It also keeps me on track and worthy, as I am reminded that "I am not a human being having a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being having a human experience," and helps me to be able to keep The Spirit in my life and His light within me.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

"For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God. To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby," (D&C 46:11-12) We all have been blessed with divine gifts and talents, even going down to so simple as just attributes and characteristics that are divine and from God, our Father. Some have other gifts and talents, like the ability to listen, to cry, and spiritual gifts such as bearing a testimony or having the gift of tongues. Others have physical talents, such as athletics, musical abilities, or home keeping skills such as sewing or cooking. God gave us these gifts so that we may use them for Him. He trusted us with each and every ability we have so that we can manage them in a righteous way and hopefully help others see the beauty of God through the gifts and talents He has bestowed upon us. Heavenly Father would not have blessed me with all of my talents if He didn't know I would use them to help others, and enlighten and lift them, and they have all been given me for specific reasons and purposes throughout my life as I serve and stay receptive to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. These talents, attributes, and my temperament are amplified best as I allow myself to be an instrument in his hands.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Sunbeam teacher (I teach the 3-4 year-olds) with my husband, and help visit other women in my ward to teach them and serve them in any way I can through the Visiting Teaching program. I also sing in the ward choir.
