Guy: Mormon.

Hi I'm Guy

About Me

I attended college and I studied agriculture business and marketing. There I built floats for the rose parade each year. I am married but we can not have children so I am on my troop scout committee and I am a trained scoutmaster. I take our boys on camping trips and to summer camps. I am a national American Red Cross disaster worker, local Red Cross chapter disaster action team member (DAT), which means I work in shelters or assist people who have lost their homes in fires or natural disaster. I am also a local community emergency response team member (CERT) and have my HAM radio license. If you are seeking employment I and other post jobs at: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?jobsList=&gid=1015177&trk=anet_ug_jobs http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LDSEmploymentSoCal/management/view

Why I am a Mormon

Many of things I do for others in most LDS families the wife would do them, but my wife has health issues and is limited to what she can do so I need to do them otherwise they would not happen. So becuase I am follower of Jesus Christ I visit the sick, and by listen to those who are om need to yjr burden lighter. I go to homes of new members and less active in our church unit to show I care and am that I am interested in them. I take my units youth on camping trips scout camps, food drives, bring treats for youth meetings leader meetings, and do service projects with them. I do things for others because I frrl the spirit of the holy ghosy often though a small peaceful voice asking me to reach out and help another. I give community service by working on community service projects, scouting activities, working as a volunteer with my local Red Cross chapter and help provide service as a disaster and relief worker to those in need. Each year I recertify in CPR and every 3 years in first aid so I can know to save a life if I find myself in that situation so I can be a trained scout leader hat is prepared for emergency. I help those looking for employment both in person to those in my community and by email all over the world by teaching classes in groups or one on one on how to write resumes, learn how to network, and by posting jobs I learn on the 2 job blogs I run. Most of the people I assist with employment are not my faith and do not share my values or beliefs. Yes I can do these things in any other church or community group but here the whisperings of the still soft peaceful voice that enters my brain and youches my heart. Like the apostle Peter who tries and fails to walk on the water and fails because little faith I try and fail over and over agian in my life. But the peace of reading the Book of Mormon that gives me answers to my prayers after reading the new testiment to my family is so much easier to understand the teachering of his prophets.

Personal Stories

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

I have read both the Bible and Book of Mormon many times and find the Book of Mormon is easier read and understand mostly because the bible has been translated from Hebrew to Greek to old English and know in many versions modern English. Each translation meaning of words is changes because words have different meaning in different languages and trying determine what the profit might for document thousands of years ago in another language is naturally going to end up with mistake. But the Book of Mormon was only translated once so it is pure an easier to read.

How I live my faith

I have a number of families that I am assigned to visit and watch over each month so I visit them in the church we call that home teaching. In our family prayer we pay for these families those we know are sick .lonely, and have other issues.
