Roger: Mormon.

Hi I'm Roger

About Me

I am married to a wonderful girl and together we have five beautiful daughters. I coach a youth soccer team and enjoy computers, cycling, and running. Someday, I would like to complete a full marathon. I have a degree in IT and am employed by the U.S. government as a network engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon provides great blessings to me and my family. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and it's teachings, when followed, bring tremendous peace and provide clear direction in a world where moral footings seem to be faltering. God lives and loves all of his children. I believe he desires for us to be close to him and to find true happiness.

Personal Stories

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

I didn't always know for myself that God lives and that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Sincerely reading and praying about The Book of Mormon helped me to come to know of the reality of God and Jesus Christ and their love for me, and everyone. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and I find relevant solutions to my problems as I study and live its teachings.

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

God's Plan of Happiness is an anchor to me. Understanding that the purpose of this life is to prepare to meet God - and that he wants me to be eternally happy - helps me to keep life in perspective. I'm not just living for a moment or without purpose. Life has great meaning and purpose as I live to know and serve a loving God.

How I live my faith

Following the Gospel of Jesus Christ, raising a family, serving in some way in our local church congregation, getting an education, just living life - it is all interconnected in the Mormon faith. When we serve others we are also serving God. Mormonism provides many opportunities to provide meaningful service that lifts and strengthens others.
