Hi I'm Matt

About Me

I am 24 going on 25, and I love living life! (You should be thinking Sound of Music at this point). I'm finishing up a Masters degree in Information Systems at BYU, love User Experience Design and want to make a difference in the world. I love music and art and have done both most of my life. I have the best family in the world!! No questions asked--plus friends to match. I lived two years in Ukraine and Moldova as a volunteer missionary and loved it. I love languages and linguistics and as a result, I have a habit of meeting new people. ;)

Why I am a Mormon

Because it is the most wonderful thing in the world! I have found no thing that brings me as much joy and happiness in life as striving to live like a "mormon". At its simplest, it is a life of striving to know truth and live by it. It is striving to know God, our Father, who is the source of all truth. I want to be like Him.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

It comes from trying to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have seen that change my family over the course of the 20 years that I have been in it. As we have tried to humble ourselves and change, I have seen such wonderful things happen in our family. It takes great patience and a desire to forgive and forget each others' mistakes. We must bring the Spirit of the Lord into our homes.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

We share it because we love it and we love them! When you find a restaurant that has good prices and great desserts, it would seem strange to hide the fact from your friends. On the contrary, we share our discovery with them and enjoy the ice cream together. So it is with the gospel. I have found something GREAT and I want others to know about it. I think that the biggest way that we can share the gospel is by the way we live our lives. People are always watching and we must be careful what messages we are sending. If we say one thing and do another we can send a huge mixed message. On the other hand, when people see the things that we are doing, the changes in our lives, it blesses and uplifts them, too.

How I live my faith

Faith is belief plus action. Faith is dead without some sort of action on our behalf. If we believe that we can be blessed by reading the scriptures, we'll read them as a sign of our faith or belief. If we believe that God answers prayers, we pray. I try my best to show my faith by giving of myself in church associations, by being loving and of service in my relationships with friends and family, by doing all that I can to show my love to my Heavenly Father in word and deed.
