Hi I'm Christina
I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I have one brother who is my best friend. I love photography, writing, soccer, and music. I LOVE the beach! I love watching movies and hanging out with friends and family.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into the church. My dad is a convert (He wasn't born into the church. He joined later and none of his family are members.), and my mom is a second generation member (her mom was a convert). I always believed everything I had been taught, but at some point I had to come to know for myself that I what I had learned was true. When I was 18, I finally read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover for the first time, and I finished the night before I turned 19. I remember kneeling to pray afterwards and asking if this book was true along with everything else I had been taught. I felt the spirit, and my answer was simply... Christina, you've always known this is true. I received the confirmation that night that I had indeed lived in heaven with my Heavenly Father before this life, and I had been taught everything. Now here on earth, I am simply being reminded of the things that I once knew before. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the face of the earth today. It was restored through Joseph Smith, and it is Jesus Christ's church. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and it is the word of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. He leads and guides us in these latter days. I know that the temple is the house of God where saving ordinances are performed for ourselves and for those who have passed on. I know that the priesthood is the power and authority to act in the name of God, to perform ordinances necessary for our salvation. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church that has the priesthood and all of the truth. I know these things are true through the power of the Holy Ghost. And I know that by that same spirit you can come to know these things are true too. Because I know these things to be true, I served a full-time mission and dedicated part of my life to teach and share what I believe and know with as many people as I could. I am indeed grateful to know what I know and because of that I continue to share it with those around me.
How has the Holy Ghost helped you?
We have the ability to be lead by the Holy Ghost 24/7. I am so grateful for that spirit. It helps me in all aspects of my life, including small and big decisions. I know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father and ask Him what I should do and then I can receive an answer through the spirit. I am so grateful to have the reassurance that my loving Heavenly Father is mindful of me and guiding my life every day, moment by moment.
How I live my faith
Being a Mormon or LDS (Latter-day Saint) is more than just a religion or a church. It's more than just a name or a title. It's a way of life. I go to church on Sundays and church activities during the week. I also try to share with those around me what I know. But it's more than that. I try to be a little better every day, to live how Christ would live, and to do what my Heavenly Father wants me to do. None of us is perfect, myself included. But we try every day with the hope that we will return to live with our Heavenly Father.
