Hi I'm Jessie
I'm 22 years old. I'm studying sports medicine. I LOVE sports, especially volleyball, gymnastics and kayaking. I love music, from country to pop to church music. I love good food, especially Italian! I love my family and friends. I'm recently married to the man of my dreams and I have the most incredible friends in the world. I LOVE BEING A MORMON!
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into an LDS family and loved it from the start. I didn't really gain my own testimony though till I was about 12, when my dad was serving as a mission president in South America. It was an experience of a life time and for the first time I was able to really see how the gospel can change people's lives. It made me appreciate and begin to really understand how blessed I really was.
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
My grandpa recently passed away and unfortunately I never got to know him as well as I wanted to. However, since he passed away, I've had the opportunity to transcribe videos and read his journals and get to know him better. It's been a truly amazing experience to listen to him bear his testimony and begin to understand where I came from. It's important to know where you came from and understand the legacy that you carry on your shoulders. I want to be a better person to honor my parents and my grandparents who worked so hard for me to have the opportunities that I do.
How I live my faith
Right now I'm serving with the very young children in my ward. My ward is small, so we only have ages 18 months to 4 years old, but these kids are amazing! I have so much fun teaching them about Jesus Christ and their families and how we can love each other. They teach amazing lessons on how to be friends and how to forgive and forget and to just enjoy who you are. I love them!
