Hi I'm Joshua
I am 34 years old. I am the 7th of 9 children. I'm 6'5" My wife and I have 3 children, 2 boys & a girl.
Why I am a Mormon
I believe this church is the only true and living church on the face of the earth. Don't take that statement lightly. This is the only christian church that I have found that answers some very basic logical questions.
How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
This is part of a letter we wrote one Monday evening to our neighbors. The Book of Mormon is simply Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the second witness that the Lord has promised us when He said, ”In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established”New Testament | 2 Corinthians 131. The Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible, one is not held above the other. The Bible is a record of the old world and the Book of Mormon is a record of the Americas. It tells us of how the people in the Americas came to be and gives us an account of their dealings with God. We learn from a prophet in the Book of Mormon why they kept this record, “For, for this intent have we written these things, that they us may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us”. About 544–421 B.C. Book of Mormon | Jacob 44 We also learn from another prophet named Nephi, “For the fulness of mine intent is that I may persuade men to come unto the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and be saved. Wherefore, the things which are pleasing unto the world I do not write, but the things which are pleasing unto God and unto those who are not of the world” Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 64 - 5. My Family and I bid you to read the Book of Mormon and then to ask God if this book is true. We know that you will receive an answer to that prayer because it has been promised by the last prophet in the Book of Mormon.“Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. And whatsoever thing is good is just and true wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is. And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever. Book of Mormon | Moroni 103 - 7. Jen and I have personally received this witness and we know this Book is true. It has changed our lives for the better and we wanted to share it with you. It is the word of God. It is Another testament of Jesus Christ and is a beacon in the world of uncertainty that we have today. It will guide you when all seems lost. The Lord loves us and He has not forgotten us and He speaks to us today. For He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Love, Josh, Jen, Joe, Mary, and Ryan. How I live my faith
I try to love all that I come in to contact with. This is not easy. It takes work to love your neighbor. I always try to help others everywhere I go. Whether I give that little extra to my customers or help a person on the side of the road. This is what Christ would have done. I have served in my local congregation, called a Ward, as a Ward Membership Clerk for 6+ years now and love this calling.
