Hi I'm Tom
I grew up Mormon in Utah but left after high school for college at a small liberal arts college in California, and have lived outside of Utah since then. In graduate school I worked on making software to allow custom housing to be designed and built more affordably. I love living in large cities - so far I've tried New York, LA, Boston, Seattle, and Tokyo. I like New York a lot (where I live now), but Tokyo is definitely my favorite city in the world.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised Mormon, but I've remained Mormon since leaving home because I've learned for myself that what I was taught as a child affects people's lives, including my own, in exactly the way it claims to. I've found that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way I can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost.
How I live my faith
I teach a class in church a few times a month and visit several other members of my congregation to make sure their needs are met. I try to notice people at church who might share my interests in certain things who might feel like they don't fit in, and I try to help them feel that everyone is welcome and fits in in their own way in the church.
