Chris: Mormon.

Hi I'm Chris

About Me

My name is Chris and I'm 19 years old. I graduated high school in 2009 and went to college for a year, just getting my generals out of the way. I love to play golf, its my very favorite sport. My passion is cooking, I love to cook and if I had my way I would spend all day everyday in the kitchen. I hope to be either a doctor or a chef someday. I am the oldest of three boys and I love my family very much. I guess thats me in a nutshell!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of this Church. Some may say "you are only a member because your parents forced it upon you". I am here to tell you that's not true. I love being a member of this church. It has blessed my life so much and I know that this Gospel is true. I know that Jesus Christ, suffered for our sins and that he died for us. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to set up His church in these Latter-Days. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God, that is meant to go along side of the bible in helping us learn about Jesus Christ's Gospel. However, you dont have to take my word for all this. I promise that if you will pray to God and sincerely ask if these things are true, his holy spirit will testify to you that they are true. Then you can know these things for yourself.

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

When I was 16 years old, I was not sure if this truth was true or if I was even going to be religious at all anymore. Before I made any decisions, I decided to ask God if it was true. I prayed to my Heavenly Father, I really wanted to know if it was true. I prayed harder than I ever had prayed before. When I was done praying, I didnt get an answer right away, however the next day when I was reading my scriptures, I just had the strongest feeling that everything about the LDS church was true and that this was where the Lord wanted me to be. From that time forth I have always konwn that this is true, and I will never deny it.

How I live my faith

On June 9th I began my 2 year full-time mission for the church. I am serving in New York City speaking Mandarin Chinese! Crazy huh? Anyways, I am here to share the gospel with people, I am here to tell everyone about God's plan of happiness for all people. The days are long and arduous, up at 6:30 to bed at 10:30 and we're going non-stop all day. But its all worth it, its such a blessing, and its fun!! I thank the Lord every day for this opportunity I have been given.
