Hi I'm Pablo O. Puyol
I live in Uruguay and I'm working for a global travel distribution system as Instructor. I'm married to a wonderful woman that inspires me to be a better man everyday and have a 3 year-old child. I enjoy serving in the Church, sharing time and activities with my family, listening to uplifting music and writing in my journal. I have a degree in HR and I'm preparing the CTA (Certified Travel Associate exam) for nexy year.
Why I am a Mormon
Never was in my thoughts to be part of a "religion". I thought I was not looking for that. I realized I was actually looking to know the truth, and understand what my purpose of me being on this earth was, but not just to "know" it, but to live according to that knowledge and let it change my life. And I found it, I testify that I did. God our loving Father in heaven and His resurrected Son reached their hands, as it was promised, to restore the true Church and Gospel in these latter days to prepare the earth for the second coming of the Savior. I was baptized in 2002 and left to serve a mission in Colombia in 2003. Many sacred and beautiful experiences have confirmed and strengthen my certain knowledge that this work is true since then. In my deepest sorrows and my most significant joys, I have seen the hand of my Savior embracing me in love, and I know that anyone willing to obey God and follow His ways can have the light and the assurance of His love and His truth.
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
We are in the latter days and we know it. We know that great events are ahead of us. Good and bad. The diversity of doctrines and "truths", the contentions and war for religion, even the total lack of interest of mankind towards spirituality as well as the lack of credibility of the churches because of their works, those aspects all testify that God's kingdom on earth is more needed today than ever before. Prophets, Apostles, Revelation from heavens, Miracles, Priesthood authority, ministry of angels, all things that uplift man and lead God's people to righteousness and perfection have always been on the earth whenever there was a humble servant of God willing to pray and ask of God and was in God the will to call Him as a prophet to lead His people. I give solemn witness that He called Joseph Smith in that morning of 1820, that Heavenly Father and the resurrected Savior appeared unto him and called him to be the prophet of the Restoration and to establish His Church once more upon the earth for the last time. All the miracles that happened since then, works, growth and fulfillment of the promises of old support and give witness too that this is His work in these latter days of the world. I know it is true and you can know it too, if you sincerely want to do God's will.
How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?
This book is a miracle. It has God's love and wisdom written all over it. I testify that it is true, it has been prepared and given by the Master himself to convince the world that He lives and speaks and that He is willing to let all man know the way back home. Its guidance and precepts have been key to all decisions in my life and I have felt the sweet Spirit of the Lord every time I have turned to its pages looking for counsel and direction. What a wonderful gift for our time!
Why do Mormons go on missions?
Because we are thankful for what we have once received, and we want to give some of that blessing back by sharing it with others. Because we know that the Savior himself is working this last time with us to prepare the world for His second coming and we feel it a great privilege to be collaborate in His holy work.
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
It has sustained me in the middle of the storms, giving me assurance that, if I turned to my Heavenly Father, my cry was going to be heard and answer. I testify that He answers, He will lift you in His arms and fill your heart with joy and comfort because He loves you. It has opened my vision to understand the reason of lives challenges and the purpose of the experiences we have showing me that everything is spiritual and that all created things are there to testify of God's love and care for His children and to invite us to come unto Christ.
How I live my faith
My faith is my life. Prayer, scripture pondering, fasting, making efforts to be more Christlike are all things that happen everyday of our lives, not just on Sundays. I have the privilege to serve as a ward (congregation) clerk for the third time. I can tell that I will never stop learning of the importance of this sacred duty of being a support to the members and the leaders in all administrative matters. Even though it may seem like a temporary task, it has taught me that the house of the Lord is a house of order and that temporal aspects of our lives reflect the reverence and devotion we have for spiritual truths and covenants. I'm thankful for the great talents and experience the Lord has helped me to develop through this assignment.
