Trevor H.: Mormon.

Hi I'm Trevor H.

About Me

I like playing sports but not necessarily watching them. I like soccer, golf, racquetball, basketball, and volleyball to name a few. I'm currently going to college and should graduate in two years. I like traveling all over but don't all that much because I don't have enough time or money.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of this church. I was raised in the church but I realized at a young age that I could not rely on my parents beliefs. I needed to establish my own. As I studied the church and its teachings I came to feel and know that this church is right for me. It teaches true principles and encourages righteous living. I am happy as I learn about the doctrines and principles of the church. I know it can help others and that's why I served a mission for the church in Paraguay.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a large part in my life. Just recently I needed to drive to a city 30 minutes away to take the GMAT. I got in my car and started driving out of the parking lot when the breaks went out in my car. I had to use my emergency break to stop the car. Because I had to take the GMAT that day I pulled off to the side of the road and said a quick heartfelt prayer for protection. I felt peace. I also felt that it would be OK to make the trip. Throughout the whole trip my breaks miraculously worked and I was able to make it to and from the test safely. Prayer is my comfort. Prayer is the way I can talk to my maker and receive direction and guidance.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending church and learning more from the scriptures and the teachers for that week. I have recently been in charge of organizing activities for my local congregation. It was really fun and a good experience. I also have responsibilities to teach the men of my congregation and instruct them on how to be better brethren in the church.
