Hi I'm Julie

About Me

I'm a musician and wordsmith.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family so received great opportunities to gain a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ since I was young. I believe that the gospel is all truth, regardless of where it may be found, so I love learning all I can and adding it to the strength of my testimony. I know that God lives, that he called and continues to call prophets to guide people and lead his church through the authority of the priesthood, that he communicates directly with us through the Holy Ghost, that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to provide for our needs in this life and eternally, and that the scriptures are true and show how we can return to live with him again.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

I served a mission because I prayed to know if I should, and received an unmistakable confirming answer through the Holy Spirit. I could never have known, in my immaturity at the time, how it would affect my life, nor would I, in my selfishness, have thought the sacrifices involved to be worth it. I can't guarantee it helped anyone else, but it has blessed me every day of the 17+ years since I chose to go. As difficult as it often was to share personal, sensitive, spiritual feelings with people I hadn't met before, and who may not have appreciated them, it provided a foundation for my further growth and strengthened my testimony tremendously. Mormons as a people share what they have because they believe the Lord has asked it of them generally: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19–20 However, those who take the Savior at his word, personally, find very real and personal application of the succeeding promise in those verses: "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20

How I live my faith

I am a Latter-day Saint Christian all the time and I hope my life reflects that. I try to be a good steward of the earth, I provide service as I can, I continually strive to make my life reflect the Savior's.
