About Me

I love learning new things every day. Life is exciting when you think of every day as a challenge and an adventure. I like to read, listen, and see anything that I feel helps me grow. I also love to watch movies and to go to the movies with my family. That is definitively my favorite time out! I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (the Caribbean), and for a living I do what I like doing the most: developing brands! I am an advertising executive and a communicator. I enjoy having the opportunity to help businesses and companies define their message and communicate it effectively to their customers. In addition, I am always seeking new ideas for developing new businesses, both for ourselves as well as for others. I am the father of two beautiful children and the husband of my best friend, counselor, and partner (the love of my life). My family is the best part of my life. It is what gives my life purpose and flavor. Interestingly, when I was a little boy I once asked myself, 'Why does everyone do the same as everyone else? People get married, have children, and raise children. Everyone does the same as everyone else!' When we are little children we don't understand. Then, as we grow, we understand. How happy I feel to be able to do the same as everyone else!

Why I am a Mormon

I learned about the Church when I was a boy. My paternal grandmother had been a member of the Church since before I was born. She was the one who taught me about the Church, its teachings and principles. I remember learning that families can be together forever. That was what encouraged me the most to learn more and to eventually be baptized. That happened when I was 13 years old during one of vacation trips to New York. There I had the opportunity to attend Church and feel the love of the members of the congregation. I felt I was among family, and the rest is history. I am deeply grateful to know about Jesus Christ and His teachings. God has given me so much, and I know that the principles that I have learned are true; as I have lived them, I have been blessed in all aspects of my life.

How I live my faith

I served a two-year mission in Costa Rica. In addition, I have had the opportunity to serve in several responsibilities in the Church, including that of a teacher, a youth leader, a coordinator for gospel preaching, and others. I am presently serving as the bishop of our congregation. This job can only be done by striving with all my heart to be obedient to God and to love others. I am not perfect, but every day I try to be Christ-like by doing His will and not mine. With His help, this is possible one day at a time. I think that what I enjoy the most is being able to get to know each of my brothers and sisters on a more personal level and to learn how to guide them to Jesus Christ so He can strengthen them and help them grow.
