Hi I'm Clark
Not only did I grow up in Utah, I grew up in Utah's backcountry. Hiking, hunting, fishing, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, climbing, canyoneering have all influenced my life. It's this simple..."I love to be outside!" My love for the outdoors has drastically amplified as I have had opportunity to share it with my amazing wife and beautiful daughters. We enjoy being amongst God's creations and it binds us as a family.
Why I am a Mormon
I was devastated at the age of 14 when I lost my dad. Having grown up in the church the teachings were at the forefront of my mind. I had finally come to the crossroad in my life. I had to know if what I had been taught about God's kingdom and an eternal family were really true. I wanted to know if I was going to be able to live with my dad and family forever. I knew that in order to receive my testimony I needed to do my part. At the end of the Book of Mormon the prophet Moroni puts forth a challenge. He challenges anyone who comes in contact with this book to read it, ponder it, and pray about it. He promises that if you do it sincerely you will receive an answer. I will never forget putting Moroni's challenge to the test. At 17 I read the Book of Mormon. But not only did I read it I thought about it's beautiful teachings of the Savior. I then prayed sincerely to my Heavenly Father. I asked him for that confirmation that the Book of Mormon was true. I will never forget the sweet, humbling answer that came. I knew my Heavenly Father loved me and I knew that Yes I can live with my family forever. I also had an understanding that life would not be easy. fortunately there was another truth that I understood that day. I have a Savior. Forgiveness is real, it's tangible. It' for everyone! I promised Heavenly Father that day that I would always do my best to answer his call to serve. Each day is a huge blessing and I try my hardest to live up to who I am---a son of Heavenly Father. My testimony is real. It's mine, I have forged it out of the fire. It makes me really happy!!
How I live my faith
I have had many wonderful opportunities to serve in my life. Teaching has always been something I have enjoyed. For the past 10 years of my life I have been involved with the youth. everything from teaching sunday school lessons to numerous outdoor adventures. My life has been enriched by these young souls. They have honestly taught me way more than I have taught them. Recently I have been asked to serve with those who teach the youth and adults on a weekly basis. The best part is going into these different classes and feeling the love our Heavenly Father has for each of his children. My life has been greatly enriched. I also have the opportunity to serve on various committees that help with church and neighborhood activites such as bar-b-ques, service projects, get- togethers etc.
