Hi I'm Beatta
I'm a full time mommy of three very beautiful children. I have a degree in Photography and continue to capture the world whenever my duties as a mom and wife allow. I'm Finnish, married to an American, and we speak Finnish at home. I love to spend time with friends, create anything beautiful, have ice cream way too often, watch shows with my husband way too late, listen to music, and spend time outdoors.
Why I am a Mormon
Jesus Christ is my Savior, and I know he loves me and each one of us. I'm a mormon because I love the doctrine of eternal families, that I can be with my loved ones forever. I have had trying times in my life, but understanding where I came from, that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, and what is after this life, has helped me to rely on the Lord and gain the peace that can come through the Atonement of Christ. I know there is a greater plan for each of us, and the Lord is willing to help and guide us to not only have happiness in this life, but also to gain our potential and be the best we can be. I also love that the Lord is still speaking to us through a living prophet, who helps us on this journey of faith by being the watchman on the tower.
How has the Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?
The Book of Mormon has taught me that we are here to have joy, lasting joy, not the kind of joy that fades away in the morning. It has also taught me that there must be opposition in all things, because without sorrow, we would not know what joy is. The Book of Mormon has helped me understand that we are here with a freedom to choose and to act for ourselves, to gain knowledge and experience, and to find our way back home to our Heavenly Father. With the help of the Book of Mormon I have come to know, that by choosing Christ and choosing to follow his teachings I have been, and will be, able to feel happiness and have hope even in hardship, and that Christ's atonement is the only way home.
How I live my faith
The biggest part of living my faith is serving. Christ taught that in service of others, we are in service of Him, and happiness comes when we look outward and help people around us. Being a mormon, I'm always given opportunities to serve, either through the visiting teaching program, service projects in the community, helping a new mom by bringing meals, or doing the best I can in whatever calling (area of responsibility) I've been given in my local congregation. I'm so grateful for those opportunities, as my life has been greatly blessed through others living their faith and the friendships gained through service given and received.
